Guys, I am sad to say I'm pretty much ditching this journal. It's been months and months and months since I've done anything even remotely relevant to this place ... so I'm taking down stuff and moving operations over to the blog I've had since last year -
ratherlemony.
you can also find me at http://cakebreath.blogspot.com. There's a feed and everything on livejournal if you're curious :DSadly, fanart updates are going to be exceedingly rare from now on. I'm trying to focus on getting my own shit off the ground. So although I'll always be skirting around the edges of fandoms (you guys are too awesome for me not to keep an eye on things), it seems my recent dormancy isn't going away. This is sad. But good for me too as it means I'm actually creating original things that I can (maybe) make some beer money from without fear of copyright. Orrr something.
So, uh, yeah. See you on the other side, perhaps. As I say, have a look at the other blogs if you're curious to see what I'm doing now. If you like web and indie-comics, then
I am actually selling stuff in March at the UK Web Comics Thing under the guise of my new joint comic collaboration: http://wearewordsandpictures.comIt's been great, guys. I've had this journal for over six years.
SIX YEARS!!! It's been largely a place for fan-dorking and talking to brilliant people who have helped me, whether they know it or not, through some fairly shitty times in my life. Fandom was a shelter for me when school and home were difficult to cope with. It led me to make friends with people from all over the world who I still think about every day. Fandom is such a great creative outlet, too. The artwork, stories, songs, animations that are created in honour of the things we collectively love are something quite special. There is real originality here, too;
Metamorphoses and The Seven Transgressions are among some of my favourite short stories, ever. glockgal and makani (to name two obvious examples) rock my world. The memes are awesome too. I'm sad to be slinking off.
so, with a whimper, I'm moving a couple of blocks down in this metaphorical town of journaling. Permanently. Hope to talk to you guys about stuff soon over at
ratherlemony. But yeah. Goodbye to
squirmy.
I thought the best way to draw things to a close would probably be to quote a comedy hero of mine. But, as this is fandom, we're going to change things to say what I need to. And so, to misquote Mr John Cleese:
This LJ is no more. It has ceased to be. It's expired and gone to meet its maker. It's a stiff. Bereft of life, it rests in peace. Its metabolic processes are now history. It's off the twig. It's kicked the bucket, it's shuffled off its mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible.
This, is an ex-journal.
ttfn. love you all.
